Embracing My Wave
I was locked in the house a few months ago due to a winter storm and fell into a series of videos in Instagram that women who had similar hair to me were getting results from a series of products that would make their locks curl! I researched with google and found that Ulta sold the products by DevaCurl. I have a side of my hair that literally is stick straight and the rest has a wave that I am pretty sure through most of the 80-90's that my mom permed my hair because it was easier to perm than it was to do my hair when I was young (she could correct me if I am wrong).
Through covid's shut down, I have noticed how healthy my hair is because I wash it one time a week, and I am able to leave it be on the day to day. When I came across someone on Instagram that seemed to have some amazing results from DevaCurl, I watched almost all her videos, hashtags and even googled. I purchased in February a series of products that Ulta carried and had them shipped to my house. I was so excited about this possibility to have something tame my mane, I couldn't resist the purchase. I waited a couple months before using. My first try, I mean, I couldn't resist taking a pic and showing some close girlfriends the results, since the part of my hair that was stick straight wasn't stick straight! I had seen enough videos that I knew it wouldn't be a one and done and it would take some time to train my hair, but I was excited about the outcome the moment I washed and styled. |
