Hobson's Golden
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am all in when getting to celebrate someone's birthday, and that doesn't stop at celebrating people. I love getting to celebrate Hobson's birthday! I have made Hobson a version of a "pup"cake since his first birthday. We like to feed him the cleanest food and treats without additives and try to keep the gluten to a low. Hobson has a sensitive stomach and some other medical conditions that just make us very aware. Every year, I grab some apples, peanut butter and hope that I can create some kind of cupcake for him. Hobson knows when his birthday is coming because I make when I have time on a weekend.
Normally, Hobson goes with me to shop for his gifts. He has an opinion & he is very social. This year, we didn't have that as an option. Because we couldn't have our normal outing, I wanted to make sure that his golden (turning 6 on the 6th) birthday was extra special with decorations. Target for the win in the dollar section had some fun summer/sailing decor.
Quarantine, this year, has made a lot of things more difficult, and celebrating milestones is one that I miss the most. I wasn't going to let it take this milestone away. My goal was to do something fun, even if it was just for 10 minutes, and make it worth it. Decorating with rope, nautical flags, and a giant number 6 balloon seemed like just the way to have a successful celebration!
Hobson is the joy in our every day and getting to see how excited and happy he is to celebrate his birthday! We do it all; light a candle, sing happy birthday, and "open" presents.
During this time, with everything seeming to be so unknown and not normal, it was time to break up the monotony.
